One-Niche Blog vs Multi-Niche Blog - What is Blogging Wisdom?

This is a very important question for every blogger who starts a blogging for dollars marathon or just wants to spend some time in sharing interesting ideas with others.

When you start blogging for a hobby, it’s easier - you have one hobby and just stick to it. Hence, choosing the topic and niche for a blog in this situation is very easy. But if you target "make money blogging", the choice between multi-niche and one-niche blog is a tough option. Why?

Multi-niche blog is easier in terms of getting content for it. If the blog is covering music, business, sports, fashion, cooking and IT - no problems to find content. Everything (which is legal) becomes a perfect content for the blog. And on the surface the multi niche blog seems to be a better choice. However, let’s dig deeper.

One-niche blog, despite the certain limits on what content to be published (as the content has to be relevant to the topic of this blog), has a lot more serious advantages:

• your traffic is more targeted
• you have better conversions on advertising offers relevant to this niche
• you are more "RSS successful"

And the last point needs some details. When you are creating quality content, other blogs and sites - via RSS syndication communities - are adding your blog as a sorce of content. Now imagine that you are runnung a multi-niche blog, today you had a post about jogging and several sites about sport and healthy life grabbed your feed. But tomorrow you will have a post about Forex trading, or guitar lessons, etc.

Are you interesting for the sites that grabbed your feed "thinking" that they will be receiving quality info about jogging? No. And they will delete your feed from their site, and you will lose part of the traffic.
