Dangers of Blogging - Part I

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

Blogging and earning money is a very popular trend these days. Everybody is blogging - teachers and drivers, fashion models and marketing gurus, politicians and "bad girls next door". One of the dangers of blogging is that most of the bloggers heavily rely on a pack of ping services and hope to get big reward from them.

"The More - The Better" does not work any longer with ping services.

In some of the articles discussed inside this community you will see that ping services have a big problem - your blogs. Yes, your blogs!

You already know from other articles here that some simple, harmless things that all bloggers are doing every day are nothing but a ping spam (this is clicking "Save and Continue Editing" or "Saving" the published post, etc.). The things that we are doing very often when blogging for cash and dollars.

Now imagine what happens with the ping service businesses. They invested money into purchasing the ping reading technology, they purchased servers, they started promotion. Usually very quickly this ping service becomes popular: as all blogs need more ping services, an extra one is always welcomed.

So, within quite a short amount of time, an avalanche of blogs is plugged to the ping service. And instead of pinging the blogs when new content is added, they are pinging any time you click "Save and Continue Editing" or any time you edit the previously published post. When I am working with a post I am clicking (used to click) "Save and Continue Editing" button 5-10 times, so that I don’t lose the typed info before it is published. Generally we can say that only 20% and even less pings are useless for the ping service, they are not bringing any new content, just very tiny amendments.

Wow, Up to 80% of Ping Service Job Done for "Waste" Info!

This makes the picture very clear. Ping services have been expecting to handle a nice amount of blogs with their server capacities. But in reality they need to process 4-5 times more. The useless info that makes no advantage to them. This resulted in some businesses on this market getting closed. And who knows, maybe some of the ping service businesses are on the verge to get closed shortly.

How Do Smart Ping Services Get Out of These
Dangers of Blogging?

As many ping services have faced this problem long ago, at least some of them should have found the solution. They did. And you can learn how smart ping services solved this issue, and how this can help your blogging and earning money.

More information about how to be sure that your blog is plugged to the proper ping service, how to point this service out from the list of other services and how to avoid the dangers of blogging in Part II of this article.

Enhance the Success of Your
Blogging for Money, Profit and Hobby!

Free Plugin!!

Our blogging expert Pawan Agrawal - who recently gave exclusive interview to Free Blogging Advice Guidelines Project - has released a new free plugin for all blogging platforms that are built on WordPress.

One of the features that I liked personally was the so-called Annoyance Factor Eliminated. The popup has an option of setting the frequency of the popup window on your blog. For example, you can set the popup window to be opened:

  • every time page is loaded
  • once until broswer is closed
  • every XXX days
  • for the first XXX visits

But this is not the only advantage - you can see here all details about MaxBlogPress Unblockable Popup. Don’t forget that it’s FREE!
