Dangers of Blogging - Part II
From the Part I of this article (read Dangers of Blogging Part I) you learned that many ping services suffer a lot from ping spam, get piled under it and have to quit the market. This makes your long term hopes for the success with these ping services fruitless.
You should focus on the ping services that have good chances to survive for a long time because of two evident advantages:
- They will be sending you traffic as long as they are on the market.
The longer they stay on the market, the more people are visiting them and finding your posts. Hence, you are receiving more and more clicks on your posts.
- SEO value from these ping services is tremendous.
All your posts are stored inside virtual account of a ping service. With time this account gets PR, gains SEO authority, improves its value in the eyes of search engines. As your posts are presented on this account and give you backlinks to the blog, it is very important that the SEO value of the account constantly increases. And this can happen only if the ping service lasts for a long time.
How to Choose Ping Services that Will Last for Ages?
No one can give 100% guarantee that this or that ping service will be successfully working for years and decades. But there are some traits that show a very high probability of it.
So, before plugging your blog to a ping service for blogging and earning money, check if this ping service has the following:
- Its own algorithm to fight ping spam.
Ping services don't report about it publicly, but you can find side proofs. For example, if a ping service is using its own system of "ranking" blogs inside via giving some authority levels to each of the blogs based on the number of posts it has done, how regular these posts are done, how other blogs are reacting to these posts and other factors. In other words, a ping service should be something beyond simple gulper of the ping signals, otherwise it is very likely that when this service becomes popular, it will get piled under the ping spam.
- Big money.
Of course, they will not say how much money is invested into the project, they don't have to report you. But judging from side facts you can see if the project has a nice financial background or not. Check how they are advertising themselves online and offline (this will help you to understand the size of their advertising budget), try to find any traits about their server capacities (their own servers with their own admins, or servers with the admins of the hosting company, or servers purchased from the resellers).
With these two factors available in a ping service you can be very optimistic about the service to last for years on the market. That is why don't lose a second and plug your blog to this service. This will boost the success of your blogging and earning money, blogging for cash and lovely dollars, or blogging for a hobby.
